New Construction – Dental Upfit

PC: PerioCare

Before using Colony Builders for my new dental office construction, I did my research around the dental and medical community and found the LARGE majority of dentists and specialists in Charlotte and surrounding areas used Colony for their office construction and I quickly found out why. From start to finish, it was easily the best experience I could ever hope for! Although their bid was slightly higher than two others that I had received, I soon realized that there were things included on their proposal that were not included on the others. I also picked them due to all the conversations that I had with dentists that did not use Colony and wish they had. They explained they went with the lower estimate but in the end, it was either the same or in most instances, more than Colony and they realized the other companies underpriced just to get their business. They then had excuses to upcharge due to “dental/radiology/zoning laws and permits required” that now will need upgrades and blah blah blah. The consistent sentiment everyone in my industry has said about Colony is they always honor their quote. This is because they are honest upfront and they have factored in ALL navigations required to get your office built perfectly, honoring all medical/dental/radiology/zoning requirements. I bought a 15,000 sq foot building that previously were the corporate offices of a church. I planned on keeping half and leasing the other half of the space. Therefore to convert half of the building to a dental facility, there would be substantial plumbing and construction needs required. Once we started the process, it was everything I could hope for. It was a big project and Colony made EVERY part of the process easy and as stress free as possible. With every project, there are hiccups and one instance in my case was the flooring I ordered was stuck in customs as it was being shipped from China. To avoid delay of project completion, Colony went above and beyond to rush a back up option of LVT flooring that not only was an upgrade material but also a better color fit to my design scheme. The floor plan was not a straight forward project by any means. My office has an indoor koi pond with a waterfall that starts at the ceiling, all glass CT scan room, serpentine layered ceilings with LED lights etc. and every aspect of the project was handled professionally and above my already high expectations. I could go on and on but the bottom line is that the communication, ability to navigate roadblocks and commitment to excellence is what I experienced. I have attached some pictures of my office so you can appreciate what was involved. Although I am a busy professional, I am happy to spend time to personally share my experience as I am passionate about how impressive this company was in helping me build the office of my dreams.
